Osbourne Free Standing Bath

The Osbourne free standing bath is a modern, double-ended rendering of the classic Victorian design but with a romantic, European influence. In keeping with its historic origins, it is fitted with its own dedicated plinth. The plinth is a separate piece and can be supplied in a second colour for a small additional charge.

The Osbourne is normally installed against a wall, so the back is flat. It can also be supplied with or without a tiling flange.

Please note that the colour striping shown in the accompanying photograph is a special effect offered in any two-colour combination.

Description

Osbourne Free Standing Bath

Despite its traditional styling, the Osbourne is very much a bath for the modern era. Made of Cabuchon’s own FICORE® composite, it has a wonderful tactile quality and retains heat far more effectively than metal or acrylic baths. Moreover, its carefully sculpted oval ends make it supremely comfortable and ideal for shared bathing.

Access and fitting:

When separated from its plinth, the Osbourne will pass through a door with a standard width of 750mm / 29½″.

Taps and other controls would normally be mounted on the rear rim. Given that the Osbourne is a double-ended free standing bath, taps and spouts should not be installed near to the curved ends, where they could prevent the user from reclining comfortably.

The Osbourne is usually supplied with pre-drilled holes for the waste and overflow. Holes are not normally pre-drilled for taps and other fittings. This is because the best way for the customer to decide their placement is when he or she is able to see the bath in its finished position. The installer can then be instructed accordingly.

The Osbourne is supplied with four screw-threaded feet, which are concealed by the plinth. The feet allow up to 50mm (2″) of height adjustment. They are factory-fitted and set to spread the bath’s weight evenly. During installation on-site, great care must be taken if the feet are subsequently adjusted to accommodate a sloping or uneven floor. For security, stability and durability, it is essential that the whole of the bath’s weight rests squarely and evenly on the feet – and not at all on the body of the bath.

Colour choice:

As the accompanying photographs show, the Osbourne (like all Cabuchon baths) can be supplied in any colour or any colour combination.

Within Cabuchon’s standard pricing, its colour can be matched with another manufacturer’s established, standard sanitaryware colour, and with a large number of previous standard colours. For a small additional charge, it can also be computer matched to the base colour of stone, fabric and other materials, provided that the customer can provide a suitable sample. FICORE® produces a high gloss finish but, as an optional extra, it can be supplied with a matt finish or primed for the subsequent application of paint effects.

The Osbourne free standing bath is not suitable for the inclusion of a Hydrotherapy system.
