Are you redesigning your bathroom? Are you looking for the perfect bathtub design to complement your interior spaces? Here at Cabuchon® we are experts in bathtub design and manufacture. We provide a wide range of bath tub design options including undermount baths, which are attractive, functional and highly versatile due to the wide variety of options.

A Versatile Bath Tub Design Option

Undermount bath tubs are one form of built-in baths and they are characterised by the ability to be set beneath another material, such as a marble surround, a tiled enclosure or a wooden deck. For a bath to be installed  undermounted, it has to have flat rims and there must be a ‘tight’ top  radius to the bowl so that it will blend with the underside of the material that forms the deck when a recess has been cut. Subtle and able to blend in with a variety of sumptuous design materials, undermount bath tubs can look very impressive in a wide variety of settings.

The bowl of the under mounted tub is generally set beneath a suitable sized aperture in a decorative, waterproof, hardwearing material such as wood, tile or stone.

With the exception of the Elysia, all of Cabuchon’s inset or drop-in  baths can also be used as undermounted baths. The photographs below illustrate the difference between the two types of installation. The rim of the inset bath is visible because it protrudes above the level of the deck, whereas an undermount bath lies beneath the overlying surface and only the bowl of the bath can be seen.

The Installation Options for Undermount Baths

As with our inset baths, all of our undermount baths can be installed to fit into a recess, up against a wall or even as a corner bath. For an especially pleasing and unusual look, undermount baths can even be installed as islands or on a stepped plinth, which makes them an excellent central focal point in any bathroom.

Amongst the many Cabuchon designs that can be installed as inset or undermount baths is the Oberon. The Oberon is exceptionally stylish and has a circular shape. To further enhance the bathing experience this bath tub can also incorporate a hydrotherapy system.
