Yasahiro Japanese soaking tub set beside a separate shower cubicle in a bathroom in Lancaster

The Project:

Although we sell our baths to clients all across the world, we do sometimes receive enquiries from customers who live much more locally. In this case, that customer was Ms BL from our native Lancaster in the North West of England, and she came to us hoping to achieve a long-held ambition.

Having first encountered a Japanese-style soaking tub as a child, she was keen to find and install one when the opportunity arose to remodel her bathroom. On discovering that we were located just a short drive from her home, she visited our showroom to discuss the options available.

On the basis of those discussions, she chose the Yasahiro deep soaking tub. She also elected to have a bespoke hydrotherapy system installed, in order to enhance the bathing experience. With it, she purchased an Integrated Aqua Filler and matching brassware for both the bath and shower area.

Ms BL chose local contractors to fit the bath and to carry out the tiling and, as she explains, she was delighted by the results.

“When I was a child, I stayed for a weekend in a London flat, where there was a Japanese soaking tub. I was wowed by this. Throughout my adult life I have hankered for that deep, warm immersive bathing experience, unlike anything a cast iron bath can give.

“When the opportunity arose to remodel a bathroom, and I started to research where to find one of these baths, I could not believe that a company in Lancaster was manufacturing them. Literally, they were only a few miles away. I contacted them.

“They were incredibly helpful. I was invited across to try the different styles for comfort and fit. Other options for personalisation were discussed. They were extremely patient with me and my lack of plumbing terminology. My choices were confirmed by email, and any questions quickly answered. The bath was made on time, and delivered as requested.

My plumber, WE Barton, installed it, and David Hunter Creations made a superb job of creating a tiled access panel. I hope you will agree with me that they have all done an amazing job.

“I am so pleased with it that I pinch myself every time I go into the bathroom.  I just can’t believe how lucky I am to have made a childhood dream come true.

“Thank you to all who played their part in making it happen. A special thanks to David Hunter Creations, WE Barton Plumbing, Optimum Decor & Design by Bee.”
