The Project:

Ms S J, an architect based in Wellington, New Zealand, reached out on behalf of her client in search of a compact, deep soaking tub suitable for a small bathroom. Finding limited options locally, she contacted Cabuchon to explore available models and pricing. We discussed her client’s specifications and provided a sample of our Ficore® composite to help them decide.

After reviewing the sample, Ms S J and her client chose the Calyx 1230 soaking tub, noting its compact yet deep design as ideal for a tight space that also included a walk-in shower. They specified a custom colour to match the adjacent basin, and we coordinated an anticipated shipment date, arranging for customs brokerage through a trusted partner.

Once installed, Ms S J wrote us with photographs and shared her and her client’s satisfaction, saying:

“After being unable to source a Japanese soaking tub in our part of the world, we found the Calyx deep soaking tub made by Cabuchon in the UK. We needed a compact bath for a tiny bathroom—where the client desired a separate walk-in shower as well as a bath—and the Calyx tub was perfect. We could also colour match the white to an adjacent basin, and it has worked out so well. The import of the bath to New Zealand was handled expertly and seamlessly by Chris Wilson, who was recommended to us by Cabuchon.

“We were kept informed at all times about fabrication, packing, and delivery. There were no issues at all. The bath arrived on time, was in perfect condition, with all plumbing attachments as expected. Now, we have a wonderful bathing experience tucked into the tiniest bathroom. It is very simple and beautiful. We will use [Cabuchon] again if we can and highly recommend the product and service.”
