Project Description
Deep Soaking Tub, California, USA
Product: Imersa Deep Soaking Tub
Client: Mr S K, California, USA
The Project:
Mr S K was looking for a small but deep bath as part of a bathroom refurbishment project at his home in Berkeley, California. An internet search discovered nothing very suitable in the United States but it did introduce him to the Cabuchon website. Here, Mr K discovered our Imersa and Takara models, both of which met his requirements for a bath that combined good depth with a compact footprint.
Ultimately, he decided that the standard-sized Imersa would be best suited to his project. It required minimal modifications although, to maximise bathing depth, it was agreed that the bath should be built without the usual hole for the overflow.
The bath was duly constructed in a white that matched the customer’s Kohler sanitaryware. Once complete, we organised the shipment, which progressed without a hitch.
“We are very happy with our Imersa. The ordering and shipping process was handled exceptionally well, and the tub, which came by sea freight, was very sturdily packaged.
“We came upon Cabuchon after unsuccessfully trying to find something suitable in the US. We had two criteria — one was that the tub be deep enough, the other was that the tub would fit in our limited space. The Imersa fulfilled both criteria.
“In the US, there are no tubs other than wooden Japanese style tubs that are real deep soaking tubs, and those are very expensive, big, and complicated to install. By contrast, the Imersa fit our budget, and because it’s self-standing, there is no need for a constructed support structure, though we did strengthen the supporting structure under the floor. We insulated around the tub and the heat retention is excellent.
“Although the tub is small, it is very comfortable and relaxing to sit in and soak.”
