The Project:

While visiting a hotel in Jersey, Mr GH wanted to take a bath but when he saw the Nirvana deep soaking tub awaiting him, he doubted that it would suit his 6’7″ frame. However, it surprised him by proving to be exceptionally comfortable – so much so, in fact, that he and his wife decided to purchase one for their own home.

Here is the story in Mr GH’s own words:

“We stayed at a hotel in Jersey which had a Nirvana Japanese soaking tub in our en-suite. I am 6′ 7” and viewed the tub with trepidation as it looked rather small.

“How deceptive things can be. When we arrived at the hotel, l needed a good hot soak to help rid myself of aches and pains, having been cramped up in an aircraft seat designed for someone about 5′ 10”. I filled the tub and climbed in. I have never bathed in anything as comfortable before. The seat is not just a shelf, as many other soaking tubs have, but a perfectly shaped, moulded seat designed so you can slide forward on it and sink deeper in the water. It really is like sitting underwater in an armchair complete with armrests and footrests!

“I suffer from a lot of pain and find being able to soak all my ‘achy bits’ at the same time impossible in most bathtubs, but so easy in the Nirvana.  The insulation is like nothing I have come across before. Instead of getting out when the water cooled off, I had to add cold to persuade me it was time to get out.

“This is sheer luxury and worth every penny. They say “you get what you pay for” and Cabuchon certainly delivers.”

Having enjoyed the Nirvana bathing experience, Mr and Mrs H then contemplated the purchase of a deep soaking tub. They began a dialogue with the Cabuchon team and were well pleased with the service they received, as Mr GH explains:

“We decided to visit the Cabuchon showroom, in Lancaster, to discuss the purchase of a Nirvana Soaking Tub.  I have never come across customer service like it; nothing was too much bother. My satellite navigation got us near the showroom but we still couldn’t find it, so I rang up, and after a brief discussion they sent someone out to find us!

“On arrival, we were made to feel so welcome and given a first-class cup of coffee. We explained we had used one of their soaking tubs in Jersey and the hotel had given us Cabuchon’s address. They were setting up a new showroom and asked us if we wanted to try out the different designs available, naturally without water! We discussed, at length, the differences between two models and the Nirvana was the winner for us. It was perfect for myself at 6’7″ and my wife at 5’4″.

We were kept fully informed as to how our order was progressing and the delivery date.”
