Deep Soaking Tub, Helensburgh, Scotland
Product: Calyx Deep Soaking Tub
Client: Mr & Mrs L.
Towards the end of 2012, a married couple living in Helensburgh, Scotland began looking for a stylish new bath for their home, which is set close to Loch Lomond, overlooking the River Clyde. The bath was to be installed as part of a larger refurbishment project that would also see the installation of a new boiler and a complete new look for the bathroom.
The room itself was relatively narrow but the clients were insistent that its smaller dimensions should not diminish its visual impact; it must look clean, bright and modern. The bath itself was to be set underneath a rooflight and would feature coloured lighting above and below, so it would effectively become the visual focus of the whole scheme. With these considerations in mind, the couple looked through the offerings of various bath designers before finally deciding upon the Calyx deep soaking tub from Cabuchon.
After a period of discussion with Cabuchon’s design and production teams, during which they agreed some bespoke modifications, Mr and Mrs L duly ordered the Calyx, which was subsequently installed as part of the broader renovation project. At the customers’ request, it was supplied with a combined filler/overflow which removes the need for a spout; one less piece of metal in a small bath.
The elegant, Minimalist styling, the comfortable bathing position and the compact, space-saving design were all important considerations in the couple’s choice, and they declared themselves very happy with it.
