Project Description
Deep Soaking Tub, Lytham, Lancashire
Product: Calyx 1230 Deep Soaking Tub
Client: Mr M P
The Project:
Some years ago, Mr M P enjoyed a relaxing stay at The Vincent Hotel in Southport and was so impressed with the bath there that he decided to find out who made it and where he could get one for his own home.
The Vincent Hotel is the subject of another Cabuchon case study, because it was for this boutique hotel that we supplied 50 Calyx deep soaking tubs, as well as a number of other baths.
Having experienced the comfort of this popular deep soaking tub, Mr M P knew immediately that he wanted one for his own bathroom. The opportunity came when he and his family made the decision to buy a former Sunday school in Lytham and to convert it into their new home. It featured a good-sized bathroom which, if fitted with a compact Calyx 1230 deep soaking tub, would also afford room for a separate walk-in shower enclosure.
Mr M P duly made contact with the Cabuchon team and set out his requirements, together with some questions about installation. These were quickly addressed and the bath was subsequently ordered, manufactured and delivered to the new home. The bath was supplied in Cabuchon’s “Superwhite” colour, which made for a striking contrast with the stylish black brassware.
As the accompanying photograph shows, the bath was set into a raised, tiled deck that featured fully integrated wooden steps.
Mr M P later wrote to us to say:
“We installed a Calyx 1230 bath from Cabuchon when converting a Sunday school into our home. We first came across these deep tubs in a hotel in Southport a few years ago and had always dreamed of having one. We are delighted with the end result. The bath is very comfortable – every bath should be like this!
“Cabuchon were extremely helpful from the outset, helping with dimensions and advice on filling using the overflow. The quality of the bath is great and feels very sturdy when in use.”
